About the project:

The sound in the city is what surrounds the townspeople every minute, hourly, round the clock, endlessly. It is impossible to imagine a large city in silence. The city always sounds.

Signaling cars on avenues, rumbling trams, in which the townspeople hurry to work, incidentally listening to your favorite music or the morning aired of your favorite radio station; the chirping of machinery in the offices and the roar of the factory conveyors fill the city with the day. The noise of the subway, the noise of shopping centers and the noise of household appliances in the residents' apartments - towards evening the concentration of the sounds of the city is amplified and discharged only by night; but at night, here and there, music comes from nightclubs and cafes, and sleeping areas excite the roar of motorcycles rushing through the deserted streets.

The goal of the project is #SOUNDMINSK - to collect all the sounds of the city and, interpreting them, create a kind of sound code of the capital. This will be a kind of gift to Minsk and Minsk citizens for the anniversary of the city.

To create audio installations based on the sounds of the city on September 9 will be Aortha / Exit to Exist, Antara, Buben, Garmash, KVSB, Knyaz Mishkin, Weska Project, Evgeni Rogozin. To support the musical part of the project, the video-installations with images of the beloved capital will be created by the VJs, the basis for which was photos and materials of the photographer Alexandra Kononchenko. The project Cinemascope prepared a special film program - films about the sounds and music of the cities of the world.
